Network Box releases user interface improvements for customers

27/4/09

Network Box, the managed security company, has released a package of improvements to its user interface for customers. The improvements are designed to make it easier for customers to manage their security services from Network Box, and to simplify reporting and site navigation.

The changes include:

MailPortalNetwork Box

  • Network Box’s Mail Portal – from where each user can manage their email – has been adapted to include a new ‘envelope sender’ parameter for reports. This allows the report to show who the sender appears to be not just from the body of the email, but also from the envelope of the email. These two fields often differ in spam email and can be useful in managing email (for example, in creating blacklists).
  • An option for mail portal reports to be sent as attachments (rather than within email forms) has been added. This is primarily to benefit users of older versions of Lotus Notes.

My.network-box.com

  • My.network-box.com - the interface between Network Box and end user customers - has been upgraded to allow customers to access more data.
  • It is has had a redesign, using tabs, to make it more easily navigable and user-friendly.
  • Internet Explorer 8 support has been added.
  • Status and analysis reporting for SSL VPNs has been added into the VPN/Status and VPN/analysis modules. The status screen lets users see the status of all VPNs in real-time; and analysis screen lets users see historical VPN connections and activity.
Full certificate authority has been added, which will allow administrators to issue and revoke certificates for use by the SSL VPNs.
