Network Box Scores with Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham Hotspur FC is one of the UK's top premiership football clubs and is also a modern sports business, dealing with large amounts of electronic correspondence and internet traffic from fans, business partners and sponsors. The need for a secure network that can defend against malware and spam was a high priority when it came to upgrading its security system.
Philip Rose, IT Manager, Tottenham Hotspur explains: "Football clubs these days are businesses, and they see the same amount of spam and virus attacks as any other business. Our security needed to be beefed up, ensuring we were on top of the latest threats."
The club upgraded its security to a Network Box Unified Threat Management (UTM) system. Magazine reviews are a helpful guide for companies in deciding new products; this is where Tottenham first heard about the benefits of Network Box. Rose comments: "I found that Network Box's approach to the security market was different and refreshing. We trialled the product and it proved to be well worth it."
PUSH technology, which sends out updates automatically, was very important for Tottenham Hotspur, as Rose explains: "With this added technology, we are less vulnerable to attack and wouldn't miss downloading patches for all security. With the diversity of attacks nowadays, UTM is really the only security product that holds any water, and with updates automatically sent out as soon as they are spotted, we feel very secure."
The managed service that Network Box provides with its product added an extra dimension to the security, which benefited the relationship between the two companies. Rose adds: "We have a good relationship with Network Box. The service is a little more personal than you would expect from many security companies. Any problems we encounter are quickly resolved."
