The Biwater Group designs and constructs water and wastewater systems across the world (the name ‘Biwater’ – or ‘two waters’ – was adopted because of its involvement in the provision of clean water and the treatment of wastewater).

The company began in 1968 in the UK and to date it has operated in over 90 countries across the world. Biwater currently provides various water and wastewater services to millions of people around the world and has businesses in more than 30 countries, employing more than 4000 employees. Each of the Biwater regional businesses serves clients via excellent communication channels and IT networks.

The scale of the spam problem Lesley Chaddock is IT manager for the Biwater Group’s Head Office, in the UK and is responsible for security which includes minimising the risks of spam, malware and intrusion attacks. She says that undoubtedly one of the biggest problems the company faces is from spam: between 80-90 per cent of all emails sent to the company are spam - around one million each month. This is far more than the company can deal with manually. On top of this, around 3,750 emails per week contain malware that emails per week contain malware that could compromise Biwater’s corporate network.
