What is push Technology?

PUSH technology means that Network Box actively pushes out updates and patches from its SOCs to each Network Box to deliver all updates in under 45 seconds, as soon as the updates are available. This contrasts with all our competitors who use polling technology, which only updates as and when the clients' software internal timers tell them to update. This can mean that an update may have been available for many hours, but will not have been delivered to the client site, because the timer at the client end will not have triggered an update.

Moreover, our UTM service means that we configure all elements of our customers' boxes to ensure optimum defence against existing and emerging threats. Traditional Pull/Poll

The usual way that updates and patches are provided by vendors is that they provide the patch on their website and expect their customers to pull them down and install them. There are a number of problems with this in practice:

1. Customers need to know that there is an update waiting
2. They need to ensure that they have the rights to access the patch on the website
3. They have to download it and ensure the checksum is correct
4. They have to find time to install it
5. They have to repeat all these steps for each device

The real issue here is that if the customer has many disperate products in place to provide security then the customer has to ensure that they are all updated on a regular basis. This is tedious so it doesn't get done, it is long winded so it takes time and it is unreliable so the company cannot be sure all updates have been done.
