What is UTM?
In the most basic form, Unified Threat Management (UTM) is a firewall, VPN, IDP and anti-virus working together against any known threat or in the case of heuristics, unknown threats.

Why use UTM?
The reason that some of these elements are used together as a blended defence is so that they can defend against blended threats that sometimes cannot be stopped by using, for example, just Anti Virus.
The advantages of performance, convenience and cost make UTMs the obvious choice for gateway defence. Using the best of breed technology to protect against all Internet threats including viruses, trojans, phishing, spyware and hacking ensures that the customer benefits from a comprehensive service developed and delivered by experts.
